BASF Masterprotect H1000 Penetrating Sealer
These buildings are all protected with BASF Corporation MasterProtect H 1000 penetrating sealer. (The product was previously called Hydrozo 100.) MasterProtect H 1000 is a clear, breathable, high-performance, 100% silane, water repellent sealer that penetrates the substrates to which it has been applied and chemically reacts within the pores of the concrete to provide long-lasting protection and superior water repellence. Masking of windows isn't necessary because MasterProtect H 1000 will not harm glass windows, metal frames, or painted surfaces. Breathability allows interior moisture to escape without damaging the sealer. It's a solvent based product so it may be applied to frost free surfaces as low as 20° F (-7° C). It does not alter surface appearance. It protects the structure from damage caused by wind-driven rain and chloride ion penetration as it helps reduce efflorescence, atmospheric staining, and mildew. Because it penetrates the substrate it is abrasion resistant so it provides long-lasting protection to horizontal substrates subject to traffic, such as bridge decks and highway surfaces. Contact with vertical building surfaces by window cleaners or others will not effect it at all!
